                         espectral de {\'a}reas queimadas, este estudo prop{\^o}s 
                         analisar o m{\'e}todo de classifica{\c{c}}{\~a}o orientada a 
                         objeto, a partir de {\'{\i}}ndices espectrais, para o mapeamento 
                         dessas {\'a}reas na Mata Atl{\^a}ntica do Sul da Bahia. A 
                         an{\'a}lise multitemporal foi realizada considerando a 
                         diferen{\c{c}}a entre duas imagens Landsat 8: pr{\'e} e 
                         p{\'o}s-fogo. A classifica{\c{c}}{\~a}o orientada a objeto 
                         consistiu nas etapas de segmenta{\c{c}}{\~a}o, 
                         classifica{\c{c}}{\~a}o, otimiza{\c{c}}{\~a}o e 
                         valida{\c{c}}{\~a}o em ambiente SIG. A classifica{\c{c}}{\~a}o 
                         foi considerada boa pelo {\'{\i}}ndice Kappa. A classe fraca foi 
                         superestimada por corresponder a {\'a}reas onde a mudan{\c{c}}a 
                         foi pouco percebida. As {\'a}reas queimadas apesentaram aumento 
                         da reflect{\^a}ncia na faixa do vermelho e do infravermelho 
                         m{\'e}dio e diminui{\c{c}}{\~a}o na faixa do infravermelho 
                         pr{\'o}ximo. O \ΔNBR foi o melhor discriminador de 
                         {\'a}reas queimadas. A efetividade na discrimina{\c{c}}{\~a}o 
                         por {\'{\i}}ndices espectrais est{\'a} mais relacionada com a 
                         informa{\c{c}}{\~a}o espectral do que a quantidade de 
                         {\'{\i}}ndices. ABSTRACT: Facing the challenge of the spectral 
                         signature characterization of burned areas, this objective of this 
                         study was to analyze the oriented-object classification method 
                         using spectral indices for mapping burned areas in the South Bahia 
                         Atlantic Rain Forest. The multitemporal analysis was performed 
                         considering the difference between two Landsat 8 images: pre and 
                         post-fire. The supervise object-oriented classification was 
                         executed by segmentation, classification, optimization and 
                         validation algorithms at GIS environment. The validation was 
                         classified as good by the Kappa agreement measure. The weak forest 
                         fire class was overestimated, corresponding to areas where the 
                         change was subtle. The burned areas presented an increase in 
                         reflectance on the red and shortwave infrared bands and a decrease 
                         on the near infrared band. The \ΔNBR was the best burned 
                         area discriminator index. The effectiveness on the burned areas 
                         discrimination by spectral indices is related mainly with the 
                         spectral information than with the quantity of indices.",
